Taking The Headache Out Of DVS Compliance And Latest Insurance Requirements

ACS Is Evolving – The Next Chapter

A few months ago, we shared an update on the direction of Automotive Camera Specialists and where we wanted to take ACS next.

At the time, we spoke about our ambition to evolve beyond being solely an installation company. We wanted to take greater control over the equipment we supply, develop our own fleet platform, expand the services we can offer our customers and continue building trusted installation relationships across the UK.

Those were our plans.

A few months later, many of them are now becoming a reality.

Our own equipment is operating within fleets across the country. Our very own ACS Vision platform is up and running with customers. Our installation partnerships continue to grow, we’re developing a wider network of trusted engineers, and our website is introducing ACS to more new customers than ever before.

As we plan to make these updates a regular part of what we do, we wanted to share exactly where ACS is today, what we’ve achieved since our last update and, importantly, where we’re heading next.

From Installer to Complete Solution Provider

One of the biggest developments for ACS has been taking greater control over the equipment we provide.
We’re now purchasing and supplying our own vehicle CCTV and telematics equipment, allowing us to have much greater control over the quality of the systems we’re putting into our customers’ vehicles.
But this equipment is no longer simply something we’re testing or planning for the future.

It’s out there working.

Our equipment has now been installed into fleets across the UK, including within some of our existing customers’ vehicles, and the feedback we’ve received has been extremely positive.
That’s particularly important to us because we’ve always been very selective about what we’re prepared to associate with the ACS name.

Our aim was never to simply source the cheapest equipment available.
We wanted professional, premium-quality equipment that we would be confident putting into a customer’s fleet and, most importantly, confident standing behind afterwards.

We’re extremely happy with the quality and performance we’ve seen, and the feedback from our customers has reinforced our decision to take this step.

It also brings us considerably closer to one of our bigger ambitions for ACS – being able to provide customers with a genuinely complete solution:

Equipment. Installation. Connectivity. Software. Support.

ACS Vision Is in Action

One of the projects we’ve invested a huge amount of time into over recent months is ACS Vision, our own fleet management and telematics platform. When we wrote our previous update, ACS Vision was very much in development.

Today, it’s in action.

The platform is operational and we already have customers using ACS Vision and the services we’re providing through it.
We’ve also teamed up with a connectivity provider, allowing us to provide our own SIM connectivity alongside our equipment and platform services.

For us, this is a major step.

Our vision for ACS has never been to simply install a piece of equipment into a vehicle and then walk away. We want to support our customers throughout the lifecycle of their fleet technology.

ACS Vision is a major part of making that possible, bringing together the connected services we’re developing and giving customers greater visibility and control over their vehicles and fleet technology. We’re now towards the back end of the development process, with the remaining elements nearing completion. We expect ACS Vision to be fully live very soon.

Seeing customers actually using our own platform is a significant milestone for the business and something we’re incredibly excited to continue developing.

Strengthening Our Installation Relationships

While ACS continues to expand into equipment, connectivity and technology, installation remains at the heart of our business.

We’ve continued to strengthen some important relationships over the last few months.

One of those is our ongoing relationship with Bevan Group, where we’ve continued to support them with installations across a number of newly delivered vehicles for their customers throughout the UK.

This has included supporting installations as part of the Traffix rollout, alongside work on vehicles for a number of Bevan Group’s other customers.

For us, continuing to be trusted by Bevan Group to support these projects is something we’re extremely proud of. It gives us the opportunity to work on a variety of new vehicle builds and demonstrates the confidence they have in ACS to deliver installations to the standards expected by both themselves and their customers.

Alongside this, we’ve continued working closely with Fleetclear, with that relationship developing into a growing installation partnership and ACS now assisting with their installations across the UK.

Again, this represents an important step for us.

Being trusted by an established industry provider to support their customers and projects reflects the standards we’ve worked hard to build within ACS.

These partnerships aren’t simply about increasing our workload.

We want to align ourselves with businesses that share our values when it comes to premium installation practices, attention to detail and doing the job properly.

Whenever ACS works on behalf of another organisation, we’re representing both their name and ours. Maintaining those standards is therefore something we take extremely seriously.

We’re proud to see these relationships continuing to develop and look forward to supporting both existing and new projects as they grow.

Building a Trusted Engineering Network

As the amount of work we’re undertaking continues to grow, so does the geographical area we’re being asked to cover.

That’s why another important part of our development has been building relationships with engineers across the UK who we’re happy to have working alongside ACS.

We’re now working with engineers within our network who can support us with projects in different areas of the country, increasing our capacity while maintaining the quality we expect.

But we’re deliberately not trying to build the biggest network possible.

We want to build the right network.

Anyone carrying out an installation on behalf of ACS ultimately represents our business.

Whether an installation is completed directly by our own team or by an engineer working within our network, the customer should receive the same professionalism, workmanship and attention to detail.

As ACS grows, having trusted people around us who share those values will be incredibly important.

More Customers Are Finding ACS

Something else we’ve been really pleased to see is the continued impact of our website and wider online presence.

We’re seeing an increasing amount of workload and new enquiries coming directly through the ACS website.

Potential customers are finding us, seeing the work we carry out, understanding the different services we provide and then contacting us about their own fleet requirements.

For a growing business, that’s a really positive sign.

It’s also opening ACS up to customers and opportunities that may never previously have known who we were.

As our services continue to expand, the website will play an increasingly important role in showcasing not only our installation capabilities but our equipment, ACS Vision and the complete range of fleet technology solutions we’re able to provide.

We want the ACS name to become increasingly recognised within the vehicle CCTV, telematics and fleet safety industries, and seeing new business arrive organically through our own brand is another important step towards that.

And What About Trade Supply?

Trade supply is something we discussed in our previous update and it remains part of our longer-term plans.

However, we’ve deliberately taken the decision to put some of that development to one side temporarily while we focus our resources on getting ACS Vision fully established and building the infrastructure around our equipment, connectivity and services.

For us, it’s about doing things properly.

We don’t want to try to launch multiple new areas of the business simultaneously simply for the sake of saying they’re available.

We’d rather establish each part properly, make sure it meets the standards we expect and then move onto the next stage.

Once ACS Vision is fully established, trade supply is something we’ll be revisiting.

Our longer-term ambition remains to support not only fleet operators directly, but potentially other installers and businesses looking for quality vehicle CCTV and telematics equipment backed by the knowledge and experience of people who actually install and use these systems in the field.

Looking back at our previous update, perhaps the most satisfying part is seeing how many of the things we discussed as future plans are now becoming part of the everyday operation of ACS.

We’re supplying our own equipment.

That equipment is now operating within UK fleets.

ACS Vision is up and running with customers.

We’re providing our own connectivity through our SIM partner.

We’re continuing to develop our relationship with Bevan Group and support installations across vehicles for a range of their customers.

We’ve supported projects including the Traffix rollout.

We’re growing our installation partnership with Fleetclear.

We’re building a trusted engineering network capable of supporting ACS projects across the UK.

And our website and growing online presence are bringing new customers and new opportunities directly to us.

A few months ago, many of those things were plans on paper.

Today, they’re happening.

And that’s something we’re incredibly proud of.

The Next Chapter for ACS

There’s still a long way we want to go.

Our immediate focus is completing the remaining development of ACS Vision, continuing to introduce our equipment into more fleets, strengthening our existing installation partnerships and continuing to build the ACS name.

We’ll continue looking for new products, new technology and new opportunities that complement what we’re already doing.

We’ll revisit trade supply when the time is right, and we’ll continue growing our engineering capabilities to support customers and partners across the UK.

But as ACS grows, one thing we don’t want to change is the standard behind the name.

Whether we’re supplying a single piece of equipment, installing systems across an entire fleet or providing an ongoing connected solution through ACS Vision, we want customers and partners to know what they can expect from us.

Premium equipment.

Premium installation standards.

Reliable support.

And a team that genuinely cares about doing the job properly.

Our ultimate aim remains simple: to use the right technology, equipment and installation practices to help create better connected, better managed and safer fleets across the UK.

We’re proud of how far ACS has come since our last update.

We’re even more excited about where we’re heading next.

The business continues to grow. The technology continues to develop. The partnerships continue to strengthen.

And ACS continues to evolve.
